My insurance has approved my surgery, thus I am going to Salt Lake City in two-and-a-half weeks.  I have to check in on the 20th and the surgery is on the 21st.  I'll be in the hospital for five to seven days.  Now I just have to figure out how to get there,

Airplanes are expensive. Plus, I don't know the exact date I'll be able to come home, so buying a round-trip ticket is completely out.

It's a money thing. I've been contemplating opening a PayPal donation page and posting it to the ICONOMICON! to see if I can raise some travel cash. This comment of yours makes me think I should go ahead and do it.

Perhaps it's partly because I'm really tired and also haven't particularly eaten anything today, but reading the post in your icon community and then this and knowing that I'm slowly working my way to the more detailed post about all of this is really making me feel kind of nauseated and frightened. I guess if you're getting the surgery and your insurance will be paying for it, it sounds like you'll be alright and that we shouldn't worry. Nevertheless, I am worried. I hope you will be alright.

The surgery has a very high success rate and from what I could find online, there have been no fatalities. It's a very rare procedure since it's a very rare condition and basically only one doctor does it. I am worried a bit as well, but I think it's a healthy amount. The outpouring of support from the ICONOMICON! has raised my spirits immensely.
