The Eagle Huntress on Amazon, about a 13 year old girl in Mongolia who is the first girl to get into the tradition (or so they say), it's incredibly beautiful to watch. Content notes: Stutter cuts (bizarre choice imo), and animal harm
Teenage Wasteland, which i think is on Netflix. The teenagers are a group in the 90s taking a video class at school, and the wasteland is the local dump where toxic waste is, and they investigate it. Very hopeful, about getting involved in your community and doing activism and listening to teens. loved it.
Also watched The River Wild, from the 90s. It was just OK but had beautiful scenery and Meryl Streep doing whitewater rafting. The thing that baffled me the most was how you can take two very good actors (Meryl Streep and David Strathairn) and be like, oh they are heterosexuals, they don't need chemistry. In fact let's have them hate each other? how about that as a story telling choice, people will love and relate to a married couple hating each other.
