Hey, I /rock/ at the National Trivia Network- have you heard of this? It's a trivia channel that gets broadcast at various restaraunts and bars across the country, and you play with little hand-held devices while stuffing your face with free peanuts. Or I do, anyhow. So it's not totally useless! :)

I've saw that at a steak place here in Madison and I think I also saw it in a movie once, but never played it. My trivia is weird and selective, and for some reason, never gets asked in trivia games. I can tell you where the word "posh" comes from, why Jaegermeister is a psychedelic, the breeding habits of marsupials, but I suck at Trivial Pursuit.

Trivial Pursuit has let me down so much recently it's not even funny. I don't consider (well, /I/ do, but I don't think society does) bits about Friends episodes and the Spice Girls to be trivia. Trivia should be weird and selective, not pop-culture-fluff. I think this country is getting dumber every day.

It IS getting dumber everyday:P (That reminded me of a dumb joke.. What's the fastest growing city in the world? Dublin, cuz it's Dublin (doublin') every day!)
I consider pop-culture a triva category, but in general, not trivia. The reflection is that most people don't know anything besides what they see on TV, so that's the only trivia they know. I'm sure the Trivial Pursuit people were much happier when they could sell real trivia games, and they're pissed now that they've had to dumb down the game to stay in business.

So, theoretically, if "fuck you" wasn't copywritten, Ashleigh Brilliant could take the copyright and start charging movie-producers everytime someone used that phrase in their script or whatnot... do some research on A.B., it's interesting...
