I. The Kids Are All Right
A. Jacquelyn and I went to see it.
1. It was well-crafted and funny.
2. The dialogue was authentic.
a. So much so that it was often uncomfortably awkward.
3. We both felt robbed a little.
a. Jacquelyn felt is was another film like JunoKnocked Up that used pregnancy/children as an unnecessary plot device.
b. I felt there was a lack of closure with Mark Ruffalo's character.
II. Today
A. Laundry
1. I am doing it.
B. Lounging
1. I am doing it.
a. Mostly graphic design and social media.
2. Jacquelyn is also lounging.
b. She's playing Red Dead Redemption, which I've been informed is the best game ever or something.
C. Consumerism
1. We need to go out to buy pants and candles and wine or beer for this evening.
2. Hopefully we will meet up with [livejournal.com profile] kiwikat for coffee during this outing.
D. Spencer & Emily are coming over for dinner tonight.
1. That should be a good time.
2. We're making the famous ginger mango chicken parchment packets.
III. Politics
A. Michelle Obama on vacation.
1. It is dumb to criticize this.
2. It is a distraction from real problems.
3. If you want to criticize Obama:
a. He hasn't done anything about our participation in the free-trade agreements that have
i. shipped jobs overseas which led to
ii. a bloated labor market which results in
iii. high unemployment and
iv. low wages and
v. lower tax revenue and
vi. high deficits.
4. His wife not taking vacation is not going to solve these problems.
IV. Miscellania
A. You have it.
1. It is right here.
a.  If it last for more than four hours, consult your doctor.

So having a whole day of miscellania is a bad thing?

Well, shit.

After four hours, a theme or pattern should emerge, thus canceling the spell of miscellanea.

Although I admire the structure, I don't understand?

Why must you buy pants? What's special about tonight that you must have new ones? The dirty part of me wonders why we must wear them at all, but still . . . .

Please consider: If you buy enough candles, wine, and beer for tonight: There may be no need for trousers of any kind.

There's this great website called TinEye. It's a reverse image lookup. You can upload a picture or enter the URL for a picture and it will try to find all the other instances of that picture on the internet. It's great for finding the sources of icons.

movies with dialogue that rings so true to real life freaks me out a bit too. Rachel Getting Married is very much like that. I recommend it if you haven't seen it, there's no unnecessary use of children as a plot device as I recall, only a child's death that affects the characters' developments
