On most days, I am very busy and have little time to read my LJ but I try to do as much as I can whenever I have a free moment.  I read a lot more than I comment, but then, don't we all.  On these days, I curse how big my flist is and think, POST LESS!

However, on days like today, when I have the day off except for the nine pages of cultural anthropology essays I have starting me down like an enraged bull, I need procrastination!  And you people just aren't posting enough!  I keep hanging out on Facebook and I never hang out there.  I log in to play some chess and Scrabble but I never sit around.  Hell, I've even *chatted* with people, which I *never* do!

Okay, fine, so I don't need to procrastinate, and really I haven't today because there's been so little posting on the LJ.  I have two of my three essays complete and I'm going to do the third one as soon as I post this.  Really, I swear.

I wish homework burned calories.

I'm glad to hear this, because I feel like I've been posting too much. I will post more!

I have the same experience-- when I'm busy I can't keep up, when I'm bored I scroll over the same entries again and again looking for new comments.

And worse - when I'm really bored, I go looking for new journals and communities to add, which makes my flist even heavier and harder to keep up with :(

See? You all miss me when I don't post 30 times a day... Just like I thought. And what would everyone have to do if I had a real job where I worked like this all the time?... Chaos, I tells ya!

Is it all the awful stuff? Like Malinowski, and Boas, and all those annoying old white guys?

A little bit. We just got into Boas the other day, but this exam is on general stuff like kinship and personhood, keystones, terminology and whatnot, like matrilineality and matrilocality and all that yummy stuff - the Canela, the Nyimba, the Na, all all them fun folk.

Where do you play scrabble? I'm at http://isc.ro

I'd be writing, but I can't figure out yet how to make it interesting to read, whatsoever... I have been playing scrabble instead.

I play on Facebook :)

I figure if I want to be a writer I should be able to write about the most mundane crap and make it interesting, so that's my LJ goal as of late :P

I don't know. Lately I feel like I talk too much so I've been talking less. : P

I usually only go onto facebook to play Wordtwist. Everything else there is an afterthought.

I'm glad you got a lot accomplished, though.

I try to post only when I have something to say, which is rare, so I just post crap whenever. :D

I feel lately like everything I can think to say is sort of shallow. : P I need to read more books, I miss my brain.

Eh, depth merely requires context and often it is too difficult to set up the context within a post. By the time you have the context set for the deep thought, you've written a freaking novel and us veteran LJers know that long posts only get read by very few. Fucking skimmers.

I think that really is the problem sometimes. I'll want to explain how things are but it would take too long and not be entirely accurate anyway.

And they would skim. Fucking skimmers.

It's okay. Loyalists read it all! And who needs accurate? I embellish for dramatic effect all the time.

True dat. I'll take it under consideration. I have a sentence or two rattling around but I'm not sure if it's anything.

Ha, after bitching about not having enough journals to read, now I'm at least two weeks behind on them and I'm going back and reading and leaving replies on everything I missed.
