Ha, the exact opposite of when I was a teenager. I had access to my parents' web history, email, documents, EVERYTHING... and they didn't even know how many email accounts I had, much less passwords or what web communities I was involved in. Which is probably a good thing, considering what I was getting up to in the wee AM hours...
I declined their friend request, and if they ever bring it up in conversation (which hasn't happened yet), I'm just going to tell them that it's a personal space for me, and that adding them would kinda be the equivalent of inviting them along every time I went out with friends... which would probably upset them more than me.
Of course, your parents didn't grow up with the internet and weren't savvy. Now, imagine your own children trying to get away with the online shenanigans you got away with. Yeah, exactly. Internet savvy parents are a pain!
