Days and days and days.

In case you didn't notice, I was gone but now I am back. I had to spend five more days in the hospital because I had a lovely pleural effusion which made it difficult to breathe and gave me some very uncomfortable tachycardia. The doctors drained a liter and a half of fluid from around my left lung and now I'm back to normal. My pain levels from my initial surgery have drastically lowered as well, so I'm feeling pretty good now - the best I've felt since the surgery.
I feel hopelessy behind because I had to miss a day of classes plus two days of work while I was hospitalized, so now I'm playing catch-up. I still haven't gotten my books because my financial aid hasn't come through yet, so I'm basically floating and praying that check arrives any day now. My classes seem easy enough so far and it's not much of a challenge to bullshit my way through an abnormal psych class. I even gave a nice little speech in my Intro to Lit class about why the "classics" are important to an understanding of literature and why they should not be abandoned by teachers who think that studying Stephen King is just as valid and enlightening as studying Mark Twain.
I have to go dig in the library for my Environmental Issues textbook and scan the chapter before my next class. That is all. As you were.

Date: 2008-09-03 01:10 am (UTC)Here's hoping that everything works itself out. In regards to the book situation, I made it through a whole semester without books in the same situation by borrowing someone else's and spending the day scanning until my eyes bled. The upside is that digital copies are way lighter!

Date: 2008-09-03 05:46 pm (UTC)Everything seems to be settling in. A lot of my tests showed that my surgery was a success. My classes are not hard so far and I think I can squeeze by without my books for another week or so. It would be awesome if someone did that - posted scanned copies of text books online. Total copyright infringement, but god that would save a lot of money :)

B) It hasn't been too bad. Not a distraction at all so far.
Never :D
