04)  "Do you not hear me anymore?" Battle Of Who Could Care Less - Ben Folds Five by [personal profile] antarcticlust

08)  "I don't know just where I'm going, but I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can..." Heroin - Velvet Underground by [profile] atomic_goo
09)  "Gold teeth and a curse for this town were all in my mouth." New Slang - The Shins by [personal profile] antarcticlust
10)  "I can't help my feelings, I'll go out of my mind..." Hash Pipe - Weezer by [profile] punkybrister69
11)  "Tell your boyfriend next time he around, to buy his own weed and don't wear my shit down..." Addicted - Amy Winehouse by [profile] maeghanne
12)  "Neither the flowers on the hill or the moonlight on the sea have ever looked so blue..." 12 Old Familiar Way - Of Montreal by [profile] urte
13)  "When you climb to the top of the mountain, look out over the sea, think about the places perhaps, where a young man could be..." It Ain't Easy - David Bowie by [personal profile] tekelili
14)  "I'm gonna fight 'em off..." Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes by [profile] matadin
15)  "Lately I've been wishing i had one desire..." 15 A Perfect Sonnet - Bright Eyes by [profile] emilyreplied

# 3 is Le Pastis de la Bourgeoisie by Belle & Sebastian - it's funny, I never knew what the lyrics actually were there, but when I read that I thought - Ooooh! It was the sounds of the words that did it. :)

#5 is In Spite of Ourselves by John Prine?

#6 is...something by Tori Amos I can't think of without looking it up...Not the Red Baron?

#9 is by the Shins - one of my favorites - New Slang

#17 is Dry the Rain by the Beta Band

#18 is Avalanche by Sufjan!

#22 sound familiar....

#6: Marianne by Tori Amos
#21: Mrs. Leroy Brown by Loretta Lynn (at least I think that's the title...)

Those are the only ones I'm even close to knowing--the rest are totally unfamiliar.

02) Beck, "Nitemare Hippy Girl!" Mellow Gold was totally my favorite album in seventh or eighth grade. Now I'm going to have to go dig it out.

I was amazed no one got that sooner. I love that album. For me, at least, it's Beck's best. I love how raw and folky it is.
