Eventually, everyone involved was very unhappy with the flyer for the camp out rave and so I quickly redid it in about a day and a half.  This flyer, is almost four times the size of the average rave flyer, with about ten times the amount of dj's and information, which I accomplished in about one-sixteenth of the amount of time it usually takes to do the smaller flyers.  It's 11" by 17" and folded twice.  It's a little sloppy compared to some of my other work, work I was able to be meticulous with and take my time on.  But it's better than any other flyers out right now.

However, for your edification, here is the final flyer for Ecstatic and Outlawed Productions' Labor Day Electronic Music Festival, CAMPED OUT.  (Here it is, edited, so that it all fits together in one strip.)  It has nothing to do with camping out and even less to do with techno music, but hey, fuck 'em, it looks good.

The rave culture here was great through most of the 90's then in late 97, early 98, started to go downhill very badly - beatings, gangstas, bunk drugs, robberies, shady promoters, bad parties, etc.. so I took a hiatus through most of 98 and tried again in 99 and it had been reborn, it was great for another two years or so, and then went down hill again and so in 2002, I noticed I'd stopped making the effort to go and just "retired."

I've never wanted to be one of those, but I'm at the point where I catch myself wanting to say, "Oh kids these days!" while shaking my fist :P

Yeah, I think the "Oh kids these days!" attitude becomes inevitable as we approach and enter our 30s, no matter how hip we are. It's been my experience anyway. My theory is that now our job for the next 15-30 years is to resist embracing that attitude lest we become square. But that doesn't mean we can still curse the kids silently to ourselves. :)

Did you read Jacquelyn's post about the millenials? http://antarcticlust.livejournal.com/170192.html

Bastards, they are! But some of them are cool.

I've done a lot of studies into astrology and many of these generational differences are representative of the slow transitions of the outer planets which only change signs every dozen years or more.

Ahhh, I thought this discussion sounded familiar. Not only do I remember that post, but I said a piece about halfway down in the comments.

That's interesting about the astrology angle. I never thought about looking to see if there was some sort of natural or cosmic influence that might somehow correlate to the constant cycle of generations.
