Absurd Poetry in Spam?

What is with SPAM putting nonsensical poems in their messages?

it's supposed to throw off any spam filters that a user may have running.

spam filters analyze mail for spam-related keywords ("loan", "finance", "penis-enlargement", etc). if the percentage of spam-related words in the mail reaches a certain level, the filter flags the message as meat by-product and it gets trashed. by inserting the nonsensical poems, it increases the total size of the mail and word-count, causing the overall percentage of spam-related words to fall and also the likelihood of the message getting put in the digital circular-file.
