My new Nikon came in the mail today. I can't wait to take it out, but I shot around the house while acclimating myself to its features and functions and all that lovely jazz. So far I really like it and figuring out all the modes and switching from auto to manual and adjusting aperture and holy run-on sentence batman and whatnot is relatively intuitive.

Cats, kid, and flowers. )

All of these have little to no post-processing. Soooooo excited.

I also finally got my fiber paper shipment in for my creative photography class, so I went to open lab today to develop some prints. The first assignment is double exposures, so they take forever to get set up just right. I definitely want to experiment with them more, but the first assignment is getting critiqued first thing Monday, so I had to get two prints done and mounted today. Hard work, people, let me tell ya.

Tomorrow, yoga and a lot of reading for history. Mark Twain and Woodrow Wilson. Good times.

Where is an S-Video cable when you need one? Grr!

I can't tell which, but one of our neighbors is having an argument.

I should be reading about Woodrow Wilson right now but I can't get my brain in it. I don't get it - the only way that book doesn't put me to sleep is if I read it out loud while mimicking the oratory styling of FDR.

Seriously, who's got an S-Video cable laying around? I can't even go to Radio Shack or wherever because Jacquelyn's out with Bridget.

Maybe I'll fold some laundry. That sounds like fun.

Woodrow Wilson once wrote, "It is very clear that in fundamental theory socialism and democracy are almost if not quite one and the same."

Makes sense to me.
