Tonight, I realized that whenever I'm feeling old, I can Facebook-stalk my high school classmates. Especially the ones who were spectacular douchebags. Holy hell, most of them look a decade older than me or more.

That has a whole new meaning when you misread petty as pretty. :)

Tim does the same. Theyre all overweight, with overweight wives and "man caves" and jobs they hate. Tim says it makes him feel better to not only look better and younger, but to live an active lifestyle with a hottie wife (his words), a wife he doesn't need a "man cave" to get away from. Which, by proxy, makes me feel younger! It helps too that I'm eight years younger than him. A lot.

I came here to say this. Quite honestly I've been out of high school for five years and all my classmates got HUGE.

Could it be that geeky types just conserve better? At my highschool reunion everyone told me I hardly looked any different from ten years ago but some people, especially the guys, looked so worn out.

Ha! I was just doing that the other day, looking at how huge most of them are with boring jobs and sticky-looking kids and status updates that are all snoozers. I feel very lucky indeed.

How could you tell who they were with all their profile pictures being of their kids?

Because most people don't understand privacy settings ;)

You said it, not me. I just said they looked like they'd gone to seed very early :)

Congrats!!! Besides, I've been lucky enough to know some fabulous old people - they keep young at heart, have dealt with life's challenges and disappointments without bitterness, and keep interested and active in things that matter to them. I hope you have a chance to get to know some really neat old people (You can now reply with a quip: I know *you*, tho I don't believe I qualify as fab or neat-o keen; besides, I'm merely middle-aged.)

I have noticed too, that years have not been kind to my old school mates, and It seems that people say I look a year younger every year.

Not that I'm really old, but I'm glad that my 26 year old bones only look to be 20ish at most.:]
