It all makes even creepier sense now.
Sep. 17th, 2009 09:17 amSociopathy on the Right: Ayn Rand and the Triumph of Conservative Cultism
"...they actually illustrate with bold clarity the fundamental (and increasingly common) core of the conservative belief system. They speak to the sociopathy that is at the heart of the far-right worldview. It is a worldview that holds, quite simply, that doing for others is contemptible; that doing for self is the purpose of human life; that altruism and service are somehow pathologies pushed by collectivists and should be subordinated to selfishness and greed. "
After you read this, check out the Ayn Rand Institute. Her writings are actively being used by the Right. This is seriously fucked up.

Date: 2009-09-19 02:32 am (UTC)You know, the other night I had a dream that we were doing book reports in school. I was completely panicked because I hadn't read my book and was frantically trying to think of a book to talk about while the other people were doing their presentation on a book called Ann Coulter is a Fucking Bitch.
I feel similarly about Ayn Rand and Ann Coulter, though I haven't read Coulter's book.
