I've been hired to do another rave flyer.  I haven't gotten a go-ahead on my design ideas yet, but I'm hoping they pick this one:

While the whole ET thing is kind of funny and cute and cheesy, I like the top one better.  It's infinitely more of a challenge and a more interesting design.

I totally agree. The ET one fits, for what it is (80s anyone?) but the top one is a lot more interesting.

I am really sweet on the retro-50s look of the first design. Then again, I may not be your market, so who knows. I don't think I even rub shoulders with the rave community unless I'm out at Burning Man...

That's what I don't like about the second one - it looks like a cheesy rave flyer. I have always striven (strove? strived?) to raise the level of rave flyers.
