Good bye, Figaro! Bon voyage, Captain Silly Whiskers!

Sometimes, when Figaro is sleeping, a mess of black and brown fur curled up against the pillows on the bed or in the corner of the couch, his legs kick as if he's galloping, taking a naptime romp through imagined prairies.

Yesterday he began getting weaker, the months of medication no longer a sufficient levee against his illness.  This morning we found him unconscious, curled up between a bookshelf and an amoire.  He's been sleeping ever since, unable to move, his eyes unfocused.  No eating, no drinking, just sleeping.  He is leaving us, breath by breath.  But in this sleep, he dreams and he is still running, still prancing like a pony through his dreamland wilderness.
