The bottom line is that (a) people are never perfect, but love can be, (b) that is the one and only way that the mediocre and the vile can be transformed, and (c) doing that makes it that. Loving makes love. Loving makes itself. We waste time looking for the perfect lover instead of creating the perfect love.

We are our own dragons as well as our own heroes. We have to save ourselves from ourselves.

I'm currently reading Tom Robbin's "Still Life with Woodpecker" and it's really good. These are just a couple of my favorite lines.

Thats an awesome book. I love Tom Robbins colorfull writing style. I noticed you were from WI, as I am too and its pretty rare to meet smart people around here so I thought Id add ya :)...Hope you dont mind.

I don't mind at all! And I agree, the smart are few and far between.

I love Robbins as well, though I've only read two of his books. I've been told my writing style is a lot like his and I have to agree, which is a bit scary since I didn't start reading Robbins until after they compared me to him.

I've loved everything I've read by him. People who have read my book and short stories say that my writing reminds them of Robbins, who I had never read before. After several people made this comparison, I started reading him, and I can see the similarity. He's really REALLY good, which of course intimidates me, but makes me strive to be a better writer.
