OMG you guys.

I haven't written in forever.  I have been too busy.  No free time!  Well, maybe some but not really.

Friday night I went to Milwaukee for the Little Blue Crunchy Things annual reunion concert.  I got to dance and drink and have a good time.  I got to catch up with my friend Brian who I haven't really seen in the last couple of years.  Since I last spent any time with him, he has gotten a new job, a wife (and her 3 kids) , plus they've had another kid, so he's up to a total of five.  I always think of Brian as 17, because that's how old he was when I met him (I was 16) and he hasn't changed.  He may be a hard-working super-dad, but he's still 17.  On anyone else it could be a sad thing, but Brian makes it work.

After I sobered up enough to drive home, it had begun to snow, so I didn't get back to Madison until 4am, asleep at 4:30, awake again at 8.  I dropped Ethan off at his girlfriend's house (they played Guitar Hero and watched The Dark Knight and I had a nice chat the day before with her mom to make sure there would be plenty of parental supervision) and Jacquelyn and I went off to yoga.

Now, I haven't done yoga since I took a 6-week raja course back in 2001.  I haven't done *any* physical activity since my surgery this past summer, first because I literally couldn't and then because it was winter and I just can't seem to exercise in the winter.  The yoga on Saturday kicked my ass.  It was great but oh my god, I was totally wiped out.  It got to the point where I had to stop a few times toward the end.  My muscles were shaking from fatigue and tension.  I managed to eat some lunch afterward, but I was basically dead for the day.

I worked all day Sunday and then went to [livejournal.com profile] kiwikat's birthday party where much hilarity ensued.  [livejournal.com profile] angrybunnyman took a bunch of photos so maybe later I can show you the perversion that results from large scale models of elephants and giraffes with many many points of articulation.  It would have been nice to stay longer but I had to work all day yesteday.  Then I came home and did algebra homework for 6 hours.  My brain hurts.  Matrices, Cramer's method.  Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Now I have to get ready and go to school.  I'm a bit frustrated with it right now, but this is also the first semester that has really challenged me in any way.  Then I remind myself that I'd much rather be in school than driving taxi.

I love my girlfriend.  She is great and supportive and deserves more cookies and flowers and footrubs than I give her.

My son is growing up way too fast and quite suddenly.  He really seems to have grasped on to the idea that if he acts like an adult, he gets treated like an adult.  Hopefully that sticks.

All right, people, that is all.  Have a great fucking day.  Oh yeah, we have an agreement that if Ethan gets all A's and B's, I will stop using profanity (again.)  I didn't swear at all basically, between 1996 and oh, 2003 or so and somehow I just got back in the habit.  I'm half rooting for Ethan for his grades, but I'm gonna miss calling bad drivers "snot-fucking bastard shit-eaters."

I'm glad you got to see Brian at last! I can't believe he has five kids now, hoooooly cow.

Yoga is horribly strenuous, but it gives great rewards. Any class worth its' salt is like that.

I would like to say in my defense that KARA is the one who was trying to get the animals to hump. Not that I wouldn't have, but I might have waited for everyone to go home.

I hope all goes well for you today. If you stop swearing I promise to swear twice as much so it all evens out on the universal scale.

Good luck to you! And yes, Jackie is awesome!
