Our flight from Milwaukee left ridiculously late.  We missed our connecting flight.  We got stuck in Detroit.  The airline won't put people up in hotels for weather-related problems.  We grabbed the first shuttle to a hotel with an open room.  We had a fiasco with getting a reservation.  Finally, we get a room.  No cable.  Broadcast TV with no antenna.  We only get one channel and that's grainy and red but at least House is on.  The internet works, so there's that.  We have another flight to Vermont tomorrow afternoon.  We're starving and waiting for pizza to arrive.  This hotel is pretty ghetto.  It's worn and dogeared and smells a bit.  The bathroom door doesn't close because it's the wrong size and doesn't fit in the frame.  I thought Howard Johnson's were supposed to be pretty good?  Grrrr.  Trying to stay positive.  HAPPY THOUGHTS!

Thanks. It's light snow and a bit of wind today, so hopefully things will be running smoother. When we were leaving Milwaukee, they were shutting down flights to & from Minneapolis, and that storm is what was on its way to Milwaukee, so we got out just in time. I think the hour wait to get deiced is what killed our chances of catching our connecting flight :P

I once stayed in a tiny ghetto-ass motel outside Gettysburg. Something was up with the water, and it made my water bottle smell foul for years afterwards... it actually wasn't until I moved here and put it through the dishwasher a few times that it came clean.

Things like this are why I hate flying. Good luck.

Oh, and the most ghetto hotel I have ever stayed in was in Los Angeles in a bad part of Los Alemidos. The shower HAD NO DOOR AND NO CURTAIN. It was stupid.
