jackshoegazer: (Very/Excited)

Last night, [personal profile] antarcticlust, [personal profile] brdgt, and I went to The Mercury Lounge to see The Mercury Players Theatre Short Shorts.  My play, The Rite of Spring, was performed along with five others.  All of the plays were hilarious.  I was exquisitely happy with how mine turned out.  The actors and director ran with it and made it even better than I imagined.  It's sort of odd because it was the first play I'd ever written and once the play was out of my hands, it was up to others to interpret it.  They made it much funnier than I thought when I wrote it but it worked really well.  I am definitely going to write some more for Short Shorts.

The three of us went to Nattspil for dinner and drinks beforehand and then drank quite a bit more once we were there.  I didn't break the camera out until we got to The Mercury Lounge.  Under the cut there be pictures!

The view out the window by our table.  I almost used this for my Green Photography Experience entry.

Bridget and Jacquelyn having a laugh.

Sometimes I eat Jacquelyn's head.

Bridget's face has gone all wonky!

This is Bridget's artsy good-time-at-the-bar shot :D

And last, but not least, the video of my play.  I should have some higher-quality video later, but this will suffice for now.

Looks like a wonderful evening - I'm glad the interpretation pleased you. It could have gone either way!

It really was and it could have :) All of the other plays were written as comedies so the fact that mine wasn't and still turned out to be is an effing miracle.
