My spring break is officially over.  My spring break contained a day in which we received eight-to-ten inches of snow and put us over the 100-inches-for-the-year mark, two days after the equinox.  Lovely.  Today, I have to get back in the school-groove.  Shouldn't be too hard, except I have a lot of work to do, which I could have done over break, but alas, I couldn't bring myself to do it.  I have a test in Sociology, including five essays on Thursday and I have to do research for a five-page persuasive/argument paper for English on the advantages of a one-world government/currency.  I'm not worried.  Look at my mid-term grades:

Mid-Term Grade English 1 A
Mid-Term Grade Intro Sociology A
Mid-Term Grade Intro To Film A

Easy-peasy.

Clearly you need to take harder classes, smarty :)

But if I take harder classes, I might not keep my GPA!

Awesome grades! I loved my sociology class when I took it. Do you like yours?
Have you entered any writing contests lately? I always liked your submissions!

Thanks!

I love mine. It's weird to suddenly realize you already think in sociological terms.

No contests as of late. I should check some out. I haven't been writing as much since I started school and have had to write for classes :P

Although I admire those fabulous grades, and though I understand your need to meet nose and grindstone, and I can see your need to focus, but you needn't accuse Slack of getting in your way.

J.R. "Bob" Dobbs frowns on such.

Slack accepts all praise and accusations.

Can't say I did as well, but I usually get my honors by the end of the semester.

I have an A in math and I love trig! It comes to me like breathing.

Energy politics I have no idea but hope it is an A. It is taught very abstractly.

Chem I have a C! ICK!

But I got a 94% on my bio test where the class average was about 48%. So that resolved my suicidal feelings over my chem test.

Glad to see you are enjoying school and doing so well. It is much more fun when you go back when you are older, instead of being a kid who would rather horse around than study. I have gained so much more then I think many of my classmates have.

I probably won't do so well once I get into harder classes. I can pretty much slack through these. These are three of my favorite topics and thus already pretty proficient :)

You are a smart guy. I bet you will do fine on harder classes. I did the same thing and in some cases still do, (slack) like biology, I just have to read it once without really trying to understand it. Then scan read it and take some notes and I pretty much remember the whole thing.

But as classes get harder you start to see which ones require a bit more time and which you can still slack through and ace.

:)I bet you will be slacking through many of the harder ones with A's still.

I am curious, and if you know, what field(s) are you planning to major in?

Not in the slightest. I'm just taking prerequisites right now. My ultimate goal is still to be a successful novelist. School is A) to be more knowledgable in general and B) a back-up plan, roughly to get an MFA so if the novelist thing doesn't pan out, I can teach somewhere.

A lot of my favorite writers have said - don't take a creative writing class. That is the one true way to lose anything unique about your writing. They say, if you want to write really good books, what you want to do is understand people and why they do the things they do. Thus, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and most importantly, history. That's what I'm roughly thinking about.
