Dec. 5th, 2007 08:50 pmReading: The Eden Express by Mark Vonnegut - Kurt Vonnegut's son. Mark went insane in the wilds of British Columbia in the 70's and wrote an excellent insider's view of schizophrenia. I'm about halfway through and so far, it would seem that schizophrenia is like a really intense acid trip that won't stop. Thoughts coming a mile-a-minute, theophanies about God and the nature of reality, deep and dark revelations about yourself and psyche, heavenly, ecstatic highs and horrifying, devilish lows. And it won't stop. I can hardly put it down. I'd probably be frightened if I wasn't so amazed and amused.
Wearing: Boxer-briefs, white ankle socks, Rocket Dogs, my brown "I've got a blackbelt in CRAZY!!" t-shirt, Levi's 527 Low Boot Cut jeans, hat and glasses.
Watching: I'm simultaneously watching House-season 3, Rome-season 2, Alias-season 1, & Battlestar Galactica-season 2. And I watched The Departed last weekend. It was really insanely good. It was the first movie I've seen with a clever, non-obtrusive use of cell phones. And as my friend Steven from drama class said about it today, "I'd like to see it again, actually; it made me feel very manly."
Planning: To watch Zoot Suit for Drama class, plus start thinking about the final paper I have to write for my psychology class. I also have to call my insurance and get a primary care provider, and check in on my still-non-existent financial aid. Change the litter boxes. Take a shower. Wash the dishes. Do some laundry. Find another play to see and write a critique of for drama class. Do some more work on an

Re: blackbelt in crazy
Date: 2007-12-06 11:45 am (UTC)I actually don't watch that much. I don't watch any broadcast tv, no cable or anything.
We just use the library and Netflix, and watch an episode or two of whatever disc of whatever show we happen to have a couple day a week, so it takes a while to get through a show. I'm still amazed I'm only in season 1 of Alias, cuz it seems like I've been watching that forever.
I'm also in the fourth or fifth season of Six Feet Under but the last episode was such a doozie, that I haven't been able to convince myself to dive back into that one :P
(I'm also anxiously awaiting the last season of LOST to come out on DVD so I can dive into that.)

Date: 2007-12-06 04:28 pm (UTC)Not sure if I'll ever get to that one, but I really want to see ROME at some point.
I do Blockbuster online which works out well for getting more than three films a month, which is nice!!
Re: blackbelt in crazy
Date: 2007-12-06 04:52 pm (UTC)We do Netflix with 3 rotating disks. We go through probably 6 or 7 disks a month. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
Rome is excellent, the first season, especially.
