Hobo robot is one of the best things I've ever heard of. One of my friends did a Harry Potter themed costume, but instead of doing the normal stuff, he dressed as Dumbledore's death scene, with a pillar on one shoulder and another on the other, and little stuffed figures and green ribbons. It was absolutely brilliant.
