Today I made curried couscous with broccoli and feta. Mostly I'm posting because I really like the icon I just made. And I feel I should write a real post. I've been semi-avoiding LiveJournal in the attempt to get things done in "real life" like applying for school, getting my old student loans consolidated, looking for a new job, having my child-support vanquished, find a way to get insurance, prepare for Jacquelyn's birthday, and get ready for Christmas.
We'll be flying to Vermont on the 22nd to spend the week with Jacquelyn's family. This will be the second time I've flown. Yes, go ahead and laugh at my lack of geographical worldliness. So I've never been further east than New York City, and never further west than Des Moines, Iowa. The furthest north, Menominee, Wisconsin and southern Indiana is the lowest. Ah, but mentally and spiritually, I have flown so much futher and farther. (Yes, those are two different things, further and farther. And one might add futhur, if you catch my reference.)
I'd tell you what I got for Jacquelyn, but she'd read this and it wouldn't be much of a surprise. Ethan is getting a harddrive for his XBOX360, and several games, the HALO faceplate for the 360 as well, plus a Dragonology game, the latest and last Lemony Snickets book, and some HALO action figures. His mother got him a bunch of clothes from the Tony Hawk clothing line and Jacquelyn's mom went overboard and got him a ton of stuff I can't even begin to imagine, including a new skateboard. Yes, he's getting to be quite the skater now.
We're going to go watch House: Season One, episodes eleven through fifteen. Until later, I remain...
