Thank you! Happy Unniversary? Do those exist, like Alice's un-birthdays?

Is that a Wandjina in this post's icon?
I sure hope so, because they're the local space gods in these parts.

WALLUNGUNDER, the big boss WANDJINA, came down from the Milky Way during DREAMTIME and created the earth and all its inhabitants. Then he took one look at those inhabitants and headed back home for reinforcements. This was going to be a tricky job.

With the aid of the DREAMTIME-SNAKE, the WANDJINA descended and spent their DREAMTIME creating, teaching and being God-like to the natives. These Gods from the Milky Way were so powerful that they didn't need to speak. So they didn't bother to have mouths.

They were definite good guys, and are still worshipped and respected to this day. (And how many Gods can say that?) Eye-witness reports are thin on the ground, but many ancient cave paintings still exist and show eerie creatures with large heads, huge black eyes and suspiciously spacesuit-like garments. In fact, they look just like Grey aliens from modern U.F.O. abduction scenarios.

Strangely enough, in 1838, a sea captain discovered an amazing treasure trove of Aboriginal artistry, filled with primitive and powerful WANDJINA cave pictures. His name was Captain Grey. Coincidence??? We can't tell you because the Kimberley tribes are very close-mouthed, just like their WANDJINA.

I've even thought of getting a WANDJINA tattoo.

If I'm ever there, that will be the second thing I do. The first of course will be to get off the plane and go pee and watch the water swirl the other way when I flush.

I'd never learned about the Wandjina, but, I found it very interseting and will research more. They reminds me of an ancient Akkadian site at a place called Tell Brak, in what is now Syria, known as the "Eye Temple". The temple is filled with icons, which very closely resemble the image of the Wandjina, figures with huge eyes, and no mouths.

The eye idols have been faked alot, but the one above is a verified idol, with two of the strange, huge-eyed mouthless figures. A rather interesting "coincidence" to happen on two separate continents, in my opinion. . .

You should reag Graham Hancock's Fignerprints of the Gods in which he talks about how all these myths got all over the world, in a time when global travel supposedly didn't exist.

Then there's always the Collective Unconscious :)

My favorite Haiku ever was written for me by my ex-boyfriend regarding my job:

Stagnant office air
Numbers devoid of meaning
Fuck, I hate my job

=)
