The art show was last night and it was a great success. We had half the artists of last year, but more & better art and easily twice as many people in attendance. I sold at least one photograph; I haven't heard from the gallery if I sold more after I left. A woman from one of the university's outreach offices approached me about putting up some photographs in the lobby of their new building. I was invited to go out with some late-night ninja photography club. I drank mojitos and talked with friends and had a blast.
Here's my artist bio from the show:
Way back in ye olde 1977, a book mobile swerved to avoid a dinosaur crossing the street and collided with a semi-truck full of camera equipment. Jeremy Parker sprouted fully-formed from the resulting toxic inferno. Since then, he has been haunted by his dual nature of writer and photographer and is ruled by his misguided attempts to unite this dichotomy. He currently lives in Madison, WI with his fiancée, Jacquelyn and his son, Ethan, who believe Jeremy was born in Indiana to lower-middle class blue-collar laborers. Shhhh.
And here are the photographs and their ridiculously long titles:
( Photography is the art of making graphs of photons. )
I will post some photos from the event later on. Okay, maybe one teaser now, and more later...
