A taxi gem.
May. 28th, 2010 05:43 pmI've had a passenger in the taxi twice now who claims to have spoken to God and Jesus on separate occasions. We've had great conversations about religion and spirituality. In one such discussion about creationism, I explained that...
Our lives are like a film. We can watch the film, enjoy the film, comment on the film. Scientists can measure the frames per second and quantify the exact hue of a sweater, and categorize the people, places, and creatures that appear in the film. They can even extrapolate the workings of the film and even speculate about the machine needed to make and screen such a film. But no matter how much analysis is done, no one can tell us who the director was or if there even was one. Creationists point and claim that the mere existence of the film is proof that there was a director, that someone made the film, and who can say they're wrong, because we don't know. And we won't know until we die and we get to see the credits. If there are credits. And until we find a way to see the credits at the end of the film, there are no definitive answers and anyone who claims such are fools.
