Last night, after my car parking fiasco, I endured a sleepy night at work, fighting for consciousness every step of the way. In sudden burst of sugarbuzz and vegetarian tamales, I pounded out my UW application essay. It's really good now. Really good. I managed to illustrate my career and educational paths with a coherent narrative thread and properly talk myself up and kiss the school's ass. Anyone want to pay my application fee?

And seriously... Fuck The Cult of the Unseeing Eye. I'm playing Baldur's Gate II and goddamn, that is impossible!

Also... this is amusing, but I didn't write it...

Cats playing is one of the funnest things to watch. Who needs TV? Oh, I do, to watch LOST!

I just realized I'm quite content.

My name is Jer'joh Par, and I am a half-elf Wizard Slayer. I've got Jahiera, Minsca, Aerie, Aeomen, and Jan Jansen, the crazy gnome.

I lurve it.

Wizard Slayer is a specialization of a Fighter. You can't use ANY magic, not even potions, though you can use magic armor and weapons. And for this, you get a much better magic resistance and if you're attacking a wizard, they have a REALLY hard time casting spells.

I've only recently played a game where I got to Spellhold, and realized I wasn't strong enough to finish the game, so now I've started over and am going to complete every quest I can get my litte grubby hands on.

Cool. They must be a great tank. I'd use a one-handed weapon so I could use a magic shield to make up for not being able to use rings/amulets of protection.

Spellcasters are always the biggest pain in the ass.

I've found that it works BEAUTIFULLY if I put my boots of speed on my Wizard Slayer and run him up and have him start hacking at the Wizard as soon as I enter the room while my spell-casters attack him from a distance and then my other two fighters occupy the henchmen. Works pretty nice. Take out the spell caster ASAP!

Wait... how can the Wizard Slayer use Boots of Speed, unless they're considered Armor. I always assumed that they couldn't use those. That's cool to know! Now I want to play it again!!! Damn!

DAMN!!!

Re: BG2, I think the simple answer is that if you're finding a particular quest hard, go and complete a few of the other quests on Chapter 2 and then come back to it afterwards and you'll probably beat its ass.

I found a way through it. I went invisible and found a path through. Once I defeated the Unseeing Eye, most of the baddies ran off.

This time, I;m going to complete like EVERY quest I possible can.

Hell yes, bretheren. One of the things I like about BG2 is that there are no killing fields that spawn an infinite amount of enemies. You have to face real threats and situations to get those precious, precious XP.

It is the Greatest Game of All Time. I love how non-linear it is.

Ditto. Much more like LIFE. I wonder why it's taken them so long for another sequel. I know they did Neverwinter Nights, but I heard that kinda sucked comparatively.

My girlfriend has a 6-year old male cat named Figaro, and I just got her a little blue-point siamese female kitten for her birthday in December and suddenly Figaro is acting years younger.

It was quite amusing because he was awkward at running and playing when we first got Eris, like he'd forgotten how to. Now, he's like a big kitten himself. Except bigger. And sound like a horsa galloping when he runs across the hardwood floors :P

Awh! Some male cats love kittens. I have two boys that are 4 and 6 and they're still really playful (one is a flame point Siamese mix.) I love to watch them tackle and nibble on each other.
