Sometimes
I get into a phase-
a rhythm
of assonance
and alliteration.

(And I can't stop
the slinky slump
of perforated pumps,
raising these rarefied
and rambling celestial seas
which appear to appease
and release me.)

But it's not my fault,
and I want to make that
clear.

(That these dreams-
whether for penance or
pleasure-
despise the effort,
despite the ever
increasing tempo;
a bass gestapo,
a treble train,
a bumblebee melody,
repeating
repeating
in front
of me.)

And this isn't where I started,
and it's not where I belong,
but this is where I am,
so I just sing along.

I love seeing the progression of your poems over time; how this one, for example, blends bits of your older work with your newer. It comes together very nicely, and is qutie tight. The use of parenthesis is done very well, the alliteration is well-balanced, and the language use is rich but not overwhelming. Yum!

Yay. It's not a bad one. Not the best, but better than some. I feel odd as my styles begin to cohere. I'm curious how this will progress.
