Tis the dawn of a new day!

Well, actually, it's 9:41pm Central Standard Time, but some things are new! For instance, I completely revamped my Journal, replete with new user pics. I felt a change was needed.

Lately, I've been contemplating change, specifically the difference between our inner and outer lives. I've gone through some major inner changes over the past few years, and now my outer life is only beginning to reflect those changes. I specifically notice this with my tastes in hair, clothing, and home decor. I try to tell myself that this also has nothing to do with my habit of dropping friends without warning or provocation, but I know I'm kidding myself. Other times, something happens in our outer lives and it takes a while to catch up internally. Like the United States going absolutely ape-shit, or your parents dying.

I've noticed with my Journal that I tend to make these changes as often as possible. As soon as my inner world has shifted, I reinvent the design of my LJ. If it didn't cost $15 a pop, I'd change my user name as well. And no, I don't feel like making a new journal and transferring everyone over. Thanks for the suggestion though :)

If you're interested, here is the full background picture I did for the new page. And just for the good, jolly hell of it, here's a picture I took this afternoon of, yes indeed, me smiling. I photoshopped it to make it look a bit vintage. The result wasn't quite what I'd hoped for, but decent nonetheless. This last picture is an unedited photo whose trippy trails I am quite proud of, produced my simply moving fast as I took the picture.

Enjoy!

[EDIT]
Muthafunkin' EDIT! Yesterday was my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY on LJ. For one whole year, three-hundred and sixty-five-ish days, I've been keeping you all updated with the random shiet that runs through my head and all the wackiness that comes out of it. I love you all.

i've been feeling different lately, probably not as dark, i guess. so i changed my layout and colors. the journal is a way to present myself to the world.

Thanks! Did you check out my other two new ones as well. I was super nervous about getting rid of my main icon; it's been with me for so long!

I've been feeling very brown and sharp, understated, yet vibrant lately, so there's my journal :P

ooh, the other icons are neato :-) the cool thing about icons is that you can re-upload them if you decide you need to.

Never back..

Considering I'm an earth sign: love the earthy tones, very cool! Ive changed my LJ a few times myself, and go through those phases too. Even my hair (dont have pic yet but) cut it shoulder length last week, shaggy-type thing. That was about six inches off my head -- not easy to do, but said why not!? =P

Wow! I know there's this strong emotional attatchment most girls get with their hair.. why is that? When I would grow my hair out long, I'd routinely shave it all off and start over again.

If I may venture a guess - I once chopped my hair from waist to shoulders in a go and then shoulders to chin ... And each time it was a mix of excitement and horror. I think that women are raised by the media to see long hair as feminine. Also, there's the worry that you'll look crap with short hair - and no woman I know (myself included) wants her hair to look bad or reflect poorly on her face. Guys can socially have shaved heads and look fine in the worlds eyes (for the most part). That's my take.

I would often go from long har (http://www.geocities.com/jeremy714p/JeremyJunior1993.jpg) to short hair (http://www.geocities.com/jeremy714p/pinky2.jpg). Men are apparently only allowed to value their hair when they start balding :P

Well, being an odd witch myself, if I do cut my hair, like recently, I'll do a quickie meditational ritual in putting anything I want "cut off" to go with the hair. Technically, hair grows, and is on our manes at certain times in life, and since our brain's up in there beyond the locks -- lots more goes down with the hair.

And yes, six inches of hair is tough to say goodbye to at times -- that's a lot of hair!

I would often go from long har (http://www.geocities.com/jeremy714p/JeremyJunior1993.jpg) to short hair (http://www.geocities.com/jeremy714p/pinky2.jpg) and only have that weird "my head feels lighter" feeling.

I've always felt that way about hair cuts, getting rid of the past in a way. Madonna once said you should change your hair at least once a year so you don't get used to being the same person all the time.

I like that even though you revamped and changed your icons you maintained the fnord camera eye shot.
Don't know if I've said it before but you are an amazing artist, I really like your stuff alot, makes me aspire to greater heights

Maybe that camera shot will be my trademark. Always photoed with his own camera!

And thank you good sir! I appreciate the compliments. I've worked hard (well, really goofed off and played around a lot) to become so :P

Yes, my good man, flattery does pay off! I was feeling creative and manifesting your username seemed like such fun! You, of course, don't have to use them!

Same here bro, I picked up photoshop in high school and just started messin around, it's hard for me to explain to people how I do some of the graphics I do because I start with something and just keep adding layers and fuckin around until I get it the way I want it or until i'm so sick of it I give up.

Unfortunately I haven't seen the new film and was sorta kinda boycotting it but you're a bastard and I like that Johnny Depp icon so much I'm gonna have to use it now.
Awesome Icons bro, thanks I will rotate through them, muchos appreciatado

You're Welcome :D

The new movie isn't bad at all. I still like the original film better, but the new one is loveable in it's own right, and matches the book, both in content and mood, much better than the musical.

It all looks good man. I like your updated camera shot icon, and that 777 one at the top really rocks.

It's weird, LJ has become a huge part of my self-expression, and I really feel like there was a significant void before I started- mostly in that I wasn't writing at all, really, except for the much rarer poem. What started out for me as a form of self-expression and a way to keep in touch with people has really yielded some unexpected results. We each started our journals within a month of one another, which I also think is quite interesting. Anyhow, I'm glad you're here. :)

Yes, unexpected results, indeed!

Thanks :) LJ takes up usually an hour a day or so, [kip-voice] so yeah, I guess you could say it's getting pretty serious [/kip-voice]. It keeps me writing on a regular basis, so my skills aren't depeating like ozone :P

I challenge you to match your LJ time with off-LJ writing time every day. Write for yourself, without any audience, for at least as much time as you spend on LJ. How hardcore is that?

That's pretty hardcore. I just need to take occasional nights off to write, but lately, I've been editing, so that's my writing energies right there.

I just went back and looked at the full background picture- you really don't get the scope from the way it gets displayed on LJ. All I can say is...DAMN. That's really, really good. I think it's my absolute favorite thus far. You're too good.

That one was REALLY easy too. It's only two pictures, one of the city and one of the planets and I just put the two together and evened out the colors to unify it.
