Dream a Little Dream of Peace

The Dream: Last night (yes, I slept at night) I dreamt that I was in the woods and met these strange pygmy-type creatures, definitely non-human. They had an old, beat-up car that they couldn't get to run. I messed around with it and got it started and began driving it around all over the woods at very high speeds, sometimes even driving it while I was laying on the hood, steering through the missing windshield.
After I stopped the car, I was informed psychically, as I didn't speak the Jawa-like language they spoke, that getting the car going had relinked them with a sort of intergalactic network of other races. It was a sort of secret society and by realigning them with the network, I had initiated myself into this Intergalactic United Nations. Communication between worlds was all psychic and instantaneous.
Later, I was making grand, sweeping changes in government and society based on this knowledge, but I kept getting bogged down in useless paperwork, the endless monotony of documentation and bureaucracy. I woke up, went to the bathroom and went back to sleep. I was still doing paperwork when I returned to the dream. I woke up again, fed my cats, then went back to sleep. I was still doing paperwork. So I woke up and stayed up.
Interpretation: The car represents psychic energy, libido in the Jungian sense, however this is a natural (in the woods) energy that is hidden from most people. When activated, this energy can put one into contact with the archetypal (the mythic, aliens, strange creatures, 4th dimensional entities) and various levels of the unconscious. Contact with the other levels of reality often coincides with expansions of consciousness and revelations. One having these revelations often begins to make changes in their personal lives based on the new depth of their vision of the world.
However, we often find that these changes are difficult to make in the outer world. In the outer world, we are bogged down by bureaucracy, people who are trapped by their rote, robotic systems and reactions. This is, after all, the Age of bureaucracy, where all of civilization is buried under a mountain of paperwork. So the lesson? Fix yourself. Clean up your corner of the universe, the one thing you have control over: Your Perceptions.
In a way, this reminds me of a scene from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life:
HARRY: That's right. Yeah, I've had a team working on this over the past few weeks, and, uh, what we've come up with can be reduced to two fundamental concepts. One: people are not wearing enough hats. Two: matter is energy. In the universe, there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person's soul. However, this soul does not exist ab initio, as orthodox Christianity teaches. It has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved, owing to man's unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.
BERT: What was that about hats, again?
HARRY: Oh, uh, people aren't wearing enough.
See what I mean?

Date: 2005-07-06 07:32 am (UTC)There is another side to the mirror with this: the work life is reflective of the spiritual 'mission' you are to do. Whatever your doing for a living, via communicating as a bridge between those who are difficult to understand, and translate for them (who are the 'outcasts' of society, or not intelligible to others), or those who some may not know how to communicate with, in the work life, is reflective of what you're supposed to do, on the spiritual path. IOW: what your doing with work, some form of translation/communication, to make the difficult, be understood, perhaps in writing, is to be expressed, to fix the block, sts (like fixing the car). Least I suspect this is what it means.
