Pink-Backed Morning At Last
Jun. 23rd, 2005 01:48 pmHalf asleep in Summer heat,
Raining humid strings of pearls,
Before the light-entrancing portal.
In ancient caves breed nighttime fire,
Instinctual caressing relief to follow-
Casually lasting a swallow's breath longer,
Than pearl-drop dew and ink-stained lips.
Delicate fiber from parchment's mettle,
Ripped like lisps and hornet's nest kiss,
Stings and churns - Apollo's touch burns,
Through Solstice sky and dancing vapors,
Sapping sticky maple strength,
While half asleep in Summer heat.
