What is in a Name?

Jeremy
Your first name of Jeremy has given you a very practical, hard-working, systematic nature. Your interests are focused on technical, mechanical, and scientific things, to the exclusion of interests of an artistic, musical, or social nature. You have a rather skeptical outlook on life and rather materialistic standards. In reaching your goals, you are very independent and resourceful, patient and determined. You can be so very positive and definite in your own ideas and opinions that others sense a lack of tact and friendliness in your manner of expression. You are inclined to be rather demanding and self-centred in your personal wants, and your own desires can be so overriding that you fail to recognize or appreciate the feelings, opinions, or desires of others. As a consequence, difficulties in relations within the family or with close associates can arise. Weaknesses in the health centre in the head, and in the stomach and intestinal organs.
However, this not quite me, sepecially the "interests are focused on technical, mechanical, and scientific things, to the exclusion of interests of an artistic, musical, or social nature" part. Most of my interests are artistic in nature. I've also never liked the name Jeremy. I never thought it fit me. I've always wiashed my parents had done me the service of naming me Jeremiah so that I could have a greater choice of names (Jeremiah, Jeremy, Miah, etc..) So I decided to run it with Jeremiah to see what happens and...
Your name of Jeremiah gives you the desire to understand and help others with their problems but, at the same time, you can become too involved in their problems and, as a result, worry too much. This name creates a pleasant, easy-going, yet responsible nature. It gives you a natural ability to express affection to those close to you, without feelings of embarrassment. You tend to avoid issues, however, and put off until tomorrow the things which should be done today. Accordingly, you would find difficulty in achieving success in positions requiring aggressiveness and drive. Also, you prefer to avoid strenuous work of a manual nature. Your natural inclination is to pursue a line of work where you have contact with people, where you carry some responsibility, and where you are engaged in mental rather than physical activity. You are diplomatic in your handling of people and always give others the benefit of the doubt. You appreciate good music and art. The health weaknesses created by this name affect the fluid functions.
This sounds a bit more like me. I've always been curious about how names can shape personalities as we 'grow into them'. If Quentin Tarantino had been named differently, would we have Pulp Fiction? If Abraham Lincoln had been named Dewey, would we have an Emancipation Proclimation? If Aleister Crowley had gone by his birthname of Ed, would he have ever been declared The Wickedest Man Alive? What amazing feats and deeds am I missing out on because of my limiting name of Jeremy, which most people butcher, pronouncing it Germy? What, indeed.
