jackshoegazerMy friend Spencer had some people over for dinner last night. I was one of them. I brought a big bottle of a Belgian tripel with Thai basil. Spencer made an awesome caprese with CSA heirloom tomatoes and basil and homemade pesto. God, I could go for another plate of that right now.
While there, I realized that a week from now, I will be married and this wedding process that has consumed and overwhelmed so much of my life in the past year will be over. I will never have to look at another wedding blog or use the phrase "escort card" ever again.
Less than a week. A week from tomorrow, I will be in class. The Emergence of Human Civilization, Creative Writing, Shakespearean Drama, and Third Semester French.
The only things left to do, I can't really do. Except writing vows. That's about it. Clean the house. Do laundry. Arrange cat sitters. Decide on a beard length. Go for a run.
The answer to the puzzle in my last post is this: When confronting an unresolvable dichotomy, the answer is both.
