The two eight-week accelerated courses I took this semester start today. Long gone are the lazy days with only photography to fill my Mondays and Wednesdays and my totally empty Fridays. Mondays, I am now in class from 10:30am to 8:20pm. Add this to my Tuesdays which I work from 6:45am to 4:30pm and then have class right after until 8:20pm. Makes me wonder when I'll get my homework for Wednesdays done. Wednesday morning, I suppose.
This morning I started my M/W/F English2 class, in which reading and writing will be due for almost every class. The purpose of said class is to learn the "linguistic conventions of baccalaureate writing." The class will focus on research, both primary and secondary sources, as well as the rights and wrongs of strong argumentation. Yes, that means, polls and interviews and God help me, group work. It's only eight weeks. I can do this.
The results of that Johari Window are interesting. The most common trait chosen for me was "reflective" and I wonder what this exactly means. I suppose it means that I seem to ponder things, but when I hear reflective, I think of mirrors and what exactly I reflect. Mirrors reflect what is in front of them. What you see is what you get. Take that cliche and in this context it means something quite different.
I am apparently also witty, observant, intelligent, and searching. What, by God, am I searching for?
