Howdy, peoples! Here's the last batch of photographs from my trip to Colorado. Mountains and penny arcades. Good times!

These are at a place called Seven Falls (because they have seven waterfalls.)

6

7

8

9

10
Here they are!

11
Jacqui and her dad.

12
Close-up of one of the falls.

13
It's us! Our first touristy picture ever!

14
This place was cool, but very commercialized and not very wild. I mean, we rode a modern elevator to the top :P

15

16

17

18
Macro!

19
Aww, come ON! I *want* to fall 200-something feet to my death.

20
The bottom.

21

22
Water is cool, yo.

23
It was misty and cloudy on and off all day.

24
Then we went to Colorado Springs. We parked by this sign and I liked it.

25
I noticed the land isn't as flat in Colorado. Weird, huh!

26

27
Vertigo!

28
We tried to see Michael Garman's sculpture studio, but it was closed for renovations. I snapped some pictures through the glass though.

29
My feet.

30
Jacqui feet.

31

32

33
Curled at the edges.

34
Afterward, we went to Manitou Springs which was very touristy in a Wisconsin Dells-way. Awesome though.

35

36

37

38
For instance, they had this amazing sprawling arcade with games going all the way back, long before TVs. There were literally penny games that cost a penny!

39
I shall never reveal the 10-cent delights of the Sultan's Harem

40

41
The ORINGINAL Bimbo! (not blonde!)

42

43
Yeah, I was having too much fun.

44
Then we went to an Olde Tyme photography place. I've never done this before and it was pretty cool. I want to do it all the time now.

45
This dog was just hanging out in the doorway of a store.

46
It was the kind of store that it's okay to have a dog in.

47
Something about Colorado just screams DEAD ANIMAL HEADS WITH HATS!

48
And ANTLER CHANDELIER!

50
From there, it was more rock-and-mountain viewing.

51
Do you see the witch's face?

52

53

54

55

56

57

58
These photos don't even capture how awesome this view was.

59
Yay, it's us again!

Okay, I can't view these pics whilst at work (damn filters!), but I *could* mention what might have made for a few killer snapshots: Colfax Ave in Denver. (I'm still bummed about the missing you guys.)

Next time you're out here...

Yeah, that part sucked. If it wasn't the end of the semester, we would have been able to stay longer :P

NEXT TIME!!

Did you know Colfax is the longest continuous road in america? Or at least it was like 10 years ago when I heard that?

I only like Colfax for the Fillmore and such, otherwise it is a SCARY AREA OMG DENVER GHETTO.

There's a big push to gentrify Colfax. Feh. Between the collapsing economy and the advent of the technological age, all the hookers are resigning themselves to things like Craigslist and "massage" parlor ads in the local free paper.

What may appear to some ("normal") people as SCARY AREA OMG DENVER GHETTO, I find comfortably kitchy. Hell, I live three blocks from the Fillmore. Or five. I get the Fillmore and the Ogden confused, but not the half-dozen porn shops inbetween ;)

Walking her up and down the seediest road in America was the only way to get my daughter asleep. She liked having batshit crazy people willing to sing terribly off-key to her.

I actually really enjoy that part of town also-- there's always something weird/fun/wtf-inducing going on. In fact, I was just at the Ogden last night for a concert.

I ♥ Colfax

Unlike Manhattan, it's resisting the change from urban squalor to urbane chic.

We lived off Colfax for nearly six months- I witnessed a stabbing and was at a laundromat when a woman's toddler was kidnapped.

Good times, good times.

I've lived in the Capitol Hill region of Colfax -- not the worst scummy area nor the worst yuppie-fied area, but somewhere in the middle -- and the most I've seen are a large number of drunken hobo fights.

Which rule, btw.

This made me SO FREAKING HOMESICK.

Are the red rocks actually at Red Rocks or are they garden of the gods?

The one on the motorcycle is seriously the best photo of you ever.
