Here's Ethan as a '50s greaser for school.

Chicago.  Jacquelyn, Ethan, and I went to the Field Museum on Sunday.

It was good times.  Not as good as the Milwaukee Public Museum, which was surprising.  I snapped these last two on the way out of town.

My first entry for the I Don't Belong Here theme for the newly re-launched [livejournal.com profile] photog_xp .

I saw this at a thrift store the other day and it made me laugh and laugh.

LoL fake babies.

Although there's a seriously creepy group of childless women who buy super-realistic dolls and pretend they're real. Like catladys, but worse, because they're dolls.

I try to forget they exist because they scare the shit out of me.

Now I'm going to have nightmares.

Last year, he grew some ridiculous inches, started shaving, got a girlfriend. He'll have his first job this summer and he'll only be turning 14! High school in the fall! ACK!

I am sorry the Field Museum sucked. Probably because they spend all their money on expensive temporary exhibitions instead of bothering to update their permanent ones. And now they have no money to spend on anything.

Yeah, when we went we spent like $8 extra to get in their OMG GINORMOUS BUGS exhibit and all that happened was that I got my ass wedged in an exoskeleton.

I liked the McDonalds, though. We drank their milkshake. We drank it up.

Oh no! I'm so sorry you chose the Underground Adventure; that is easily the worst paid exhibit, and is mostly only for the kids. Aztecs would have been money better spent.

I'm not sure the Aztec one was available at the time; this was last September.

The temp exhibits were pretty good, and the taxidermy was great, but it was odd to be outshone by Milwaukee. I would have expected more somehow. Weird!

b. the field museum kinda sucked when we went too

c. re: twilightreaders comment... i saw one of those babies snarked on a comm not too long ago, cause not only was it creepily real and ungodly expensive, but it was ALBINO. except it looked more like ZOMBIE. i wonder if the bassinette is acceptable for fake zombie babies?

a. yay! it's such a good poster :D Our whole dining room is vintage alcohol posters.

b. I was really disappointed. Some stuff was really good - especially the birds and the special attractions, but in general, Milwaukee is way cooler.

c. I bet it is! Fake zombie baby Jesus in a manger!
