And we are to be that shining city on a hill, as President Reagan so beautifully said, that we are a beacon of hope and that we are unapologetic here."
I ask you all to remember that American exceptionalism refers to the belief that the United States differs qualitatively from other developed nations. It is a product of veiled nationalistic chauvinism, or even jingoism. The term is used in a negative sense by critics of American policies to refer to a willful nationalistic ignorance of faults committed by the American government.
This is not a good thing, Sarah Palin.
