Sometimes I think I forget to smile for photographs.  I don't mean to look so serious, but my amusement never seems to get from my eyes into the camera.  I thought I looked pretty good today so when I got back from my morning excursion, I snapped a quick picture.  I tried three times, but this is the only one that wasn't fuzzy.

you're good folk

you don't put on airs though you persevere if I may use that verb in a
novel manner a sense of stoutness, and once again, using the adjective
newly

though you do look like you want to kill something

Thank you.

I never am anything but what I am.

Well now,
I guess you'll just have to go spend 14 days in the FUNspital.

I think I may do that. That particular one is Jacquelyn's.

the non-smile was originally perfected by the artist Beck, in my opinion.
Whom I was obsessed with, and had his posters smathered all over my barracks dorm room.

But even the non-smiley you is easy on the eyes.

We break. We put ourselves back together again. Sheer human resilience fascinates me, and I think in some ways reassures me that there is divinity in all things.

I see a little curl starting in the corner there -- and it's hard to smile for yourself, though. I imagine one day you'll sneak up on yourself and catch yourself in the act.

And I haven't gotten a chance to tell you how relieved I am to read that you are back at home and feeling so much better.

Thank you, it's good to be back and feeling "normal."

I think it's that I think posed smiles look fake in photos and I hate that. I want to be genuine and if that means I don't smile in self-portraits, so be it.

I am reminded of a quote I read once about how every heartbreak brings us closer to our true selves, closer to the heart that won't break.

You get to lose weight and the hospital food makes your skin glow.

Is that it? Then I need to go to the hospital because DC gave me zits. For the first time since I was like 17 I'm broken out like a mofo.

But I'm KindOfAlmostTan! Ish! Not white as a sheet, at least!

I bet the radiation probably helped with the skin-glowing, at least a smidge.

Also, it's totally annoying that I was downstairs cleaning and doing shit and I just happen to come up here to check emails and reply EXACTLY ONE MINUTE after you comment back. It makes it look like I live at the computer.

Bastard intarwebs.

That would be so much more convenient. Actually I keep it implanted into Dingis' back- then I have to catch the bastard when I want to click onto a new page. It's very taxing.

From: [identity profile] jackshoegazer.livejournal.com
That would make sitting at the computer a much more cardiovascular healthy chore.

When I have a kid eventually I should strap a laptop to him as soon as he learns to walk. Then I can be a good parent AND on the internet a lot AND get all skinny and shit. There we go!
