It's a jamboree.
Apr. 30th, 2011 07:56 amWisconsin has scheduled the recall elections for the Republicans who voted for the "Budget Repair Bill" that started all of the protesting back in February. Those elections will be July 12th. My birthday is July 14th. The new/last Harry Potter movie comes out on July 15th. Ethan's golden birthday, 16 on the 16th is the day after that. Now, dear Readers, say it with me.... BEST WEEK EVER!
I finished my last paper for my lit class yesterday. I'm writing up my final archaeology assignment today. The final assignment in logic is due Wednesday. Next week is the last week of classes, and then finals. A week from Wednesday and I'll be done. Can we say SUMMER?
SUMMMMMMMMMMMER. Yes we can.
Jacquelyn and I started the Couch-to-5k program last week. In theory, in ten weeks I'll have the ability to run a 5k. After listening to a RadioLab about people who run races that are 500 miles without sleeping, I'm thinking 5k should be easy.
In other news:
The House Progressive Caucus has put out its own budget to counter Paul Ryan's Medicare-gutting plan. Even,the conservative Economist has called the budget "courageous." So, dear American Readers, call your Congress Critters and tell them to support this budget!
What if Star Wars was really a foreign movie, exploring the depths of the human soul and the meaning of life? A recut version of the film (packed with Jean-Paul Sartre quotes) replays Star Wars as an existential journey. It's kind of amazing that I now know enough French to notice that the dubbed French dialog does not match the subtitles.
