Day #11,927 and counting...
Mar. 10th, 2010 12:06 pmI went a whole day without caffeine in any form yesterday and had to take ibuprofen every couple hours to keep my junkie headache at bay. This morning, though I'm broke, dropped $2 on a latte and feel fantastic. It's amazing what a difference consciousness-altering substances make.
I actually enjoyed helping a fellow student this morning in my English class. It was a small workshop day for our interview essays and the essay I had to critique was, let's say, functionally deficient? It needed a lot of work and I was (I think) able to help describe what needed to be improved without leaving them feeling like I trashed their paper. It's hard work, people.
Somehow, I ended up with three classes this semester that require a lot of reading and writing and I don't see how I'm going to have any free time until May. Don't forget I also have graphic projects coming up this month as well. And work and home and chores and family.
Speaking of which, Ethan started track practice - he'll be doing the 400m & 800m races. As long as his grades continue to improve. While the school will allow him to participate in sports with D's, I require at least C's, which has been a challenge for him this year. He also has a new girlfriend as of yesterday. I saw it coming a mile away - he'd been chatting and texting her a lot (until he got his texting privileges revoked for his lousy grades) and even made her a mix cd. Ah, young freshman love.
Yes, as of today, I've been living this life for 11,927 days.
