Oh my God, you guys!
Jan. 3rd, 2009 09:51 amThere's nothing in this post that merits such and enthusiastic subject line.
When I got home from![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif) brdgt 's exquisite New Year's Eve cocktail party - as you may have noticed by my slurry post - I was quite drunk and as I stumbled through the house and accidentally kicked a bookshelf and broke a toe.  YAY!  It was lovely shades of blue and purple in the morning.

The morning, ah yes. I woke up at 3:30am still drunk and stayed up for a while drinking water. Hangover tragedy - there was no headache/pain reliever in the house. Finally around 5ish I fell back asleep. I awoke a few hours later feeling pretty good considering. Jacquelyn and I went out to breakfast with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif) kiwikat .  There, I was initiated into the secret of the Coppertop, a "family restaurant" which, my God, actually serves good coffee.  Breakfast was huge and filling and by the time we were finished, the last remnants of my hangover were gone.

I have much more sympathy since reading The Hogfather and being introduced to the Oh God of Hangovers.
I did a good deed yesterday and drove a very old and confused woman to her nursing home. She could hardly walk and I made sure she got to her room and was well situated before I left. I made sure the Powers That Be knew she had returned and made them check on her.
Jacquelyn and I are going to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button tonight. Brad Pitt + David Fincher = How Can You Go Wrong?
Right now, I'm taking a break since the taxi business is slow and I'm drinking a latte and I'm waiting for Jacquelyn to finish getting ready so I can drive her into school.
Have I mentioned I love my new laptop? I want to take it everywhere and discover all the places in Madison I can park my taxi and get free wifi.
Last night we watched To Kill a Mockingbird, which was damned good and which I'd never seen before. I've also never read it. I joked with Jacquelyn that I don't trust authors who only wrote one book.
