PARIS (Reuters) - The Roman Catholic Church has restated its support for evolution with an article praising a U.S. court decision that rejects the "intelligent design" theory as non-scientific.I'm sort of at odds with the subject. While I tend to believe in higher orders of intelligence, my beliefs run more along the line that if there *is* a higher power/intelligence/God, then evolution is *how* that entity acts upon us. I really don't see why the two sides can't get along. At one time, I said that the difference between religion and science is that science has renamed it's God "blind determinism."
The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano said that teaching intelligent design -- which argues that life is so complex that it needed a supernatural creator -- alongside Darwin's theory of evolution would only cause confusion.
