A post in [livejournal.com profile] absurdgibberish reminded me of this piece I'd written waaaaay back in 1998. Enjoy.

Alphabet in Jehosephat

All the animals antagonize Alfred Hitchcock’s hilarious hindrances. Hopefully Homosapiens have found fire for friendly festivals. Forever failing and falling farther as fast as Frank Sinatra sang silly songs sourly and sophisticated. Since singular soliloquies sound sappy and depressing, deter differential dinosaurs in new directions. Dying doldrums are definitely doomed in Denmark.

I’m delirious.

Instantaneously I inject insidious insight into unsuspecting individuals. Investing in intentions isn’t interesting in itself. Inside every elephant’s ear is exactly everyone’s enormous ego.

Everything evaporates, evolves or envelops.

Conscious of clicking curtains capture creeping cars, cruising collectively and continuously, ceasing only to search. Seamlessly they slide, seeking something that seems missing.

Misleading the masses?

Miscalculating miniscule moments means most messes would be missed. Return to our recluse rendezvous, reliving the relevance of our relationship. Revise the rules regarding real people who prefer pondering over pleasure. Evaluate every angle which elevates aesthetics to alleviate anger.

The anesthesia relieves, no one believes, a baby conceives, and the world receives. Can you rewind to a time when rhyme seemed so sublime?

I can, and I’m fine.

fun mix of literary devices! i'm reading a book of lyn hejinian's poetry, written when she was 38 so each page has 38 lines [the book is called "my life"] with an additional 7 lines she revised when she turned 45 and it breaks down each year of her life into a poem. i've been toying with the idea of doing something "clever" in form for my writing so it's coincedental that you posted this [or the hoodoo trixters are yet again messing with me].

Thanks :) I've always wanted to do more "theme" pieces like this, or with specific structures, but have never gotten around to it. Or like the guy who wrote a whole book or something almost as long and obscene in a single, perfectly grammatically correct sentence.

HOODOO TRICKSTERS! Love thy werd for SYNCHRONICITY!

Thanks :) I read this at the one and only open mic I ever went to. I had to goon right after a hippy who did an acoustic version of Eminem's "Stan" and you know what? It was SO amazing, I felt bad going after him. It was like a crappy opening band going on after the headliner :P The advantage was that the crowd was in an upbeat applauding mood, so I got more applause than any other poet who read :)

I doubt it was because of the previous performer!

Aww, you flatter me, but alas, my perfomance wasn't even that good. I'd do 3000% better now that I've honed my public speaking and performing skills :P
