"It's a no-win argument - that business of what we're born with and what our environment does to us. And it's a boring argument, because it simplifies the mysteries that attend both our birth and our growth."~John Irving, A Prayer for Owen Meany

Date: 2006-02-09 06:48 am (UTC)I read A Prayer for Owen Meany when I was in my mid-twenties. While I felt like it was too much for me to really comprehend (do you know what I mean?), I was moved and changed and wept at its beauty. I can't imagine what it would be like to know you have given such gifts as he has given to the world.
I need to read it, again. Thanks, for reminding me.
