Isn't it apropros that chaos reaches into the unconscious, as the unconscious is chaotic when countered to the illusion of structures and foundations, which society tries to create in a permanent fashion? Those structures cannot remain permanent, ever. Like creating a mindset of 'fear' of losing 'freedom.' Does this world really have 'freedom' to hold onto though? Does it even know what freedom is?
How can society cling to freedom, when in so many ways, it is not free? There have been plenty of books written which have a wonderful way of reaching into the unconscious self. "The Count of Monte Cristo," or "Frankenstein," or "The Heart of Darkness." Wouldn't Bush benefit from reading Conrad? Would he see that Kurtz is the shadow of Marlow? Exchange the pursuit of "civiling" the masses, for "freeing" the masses, from the shadow people called "terrorists" and how much different is Bush from Osama?
