Oooh, also good. Fun, but kind of tender, too. Do you think "blackened dark" is redundant? Is it intentional? I like the line, "with a ten-penny whiskey and his flack jacket on." Although, for some reason, I've read this four times and typing the line is the first time I've realized it says "whiskey-" I've literally seen it as "whistle" every other time. Hah.
