Someone pistol whip me with a Nerf gun. Paint my brain with a thin red lacquer. Carve something utilitarian from my wooden heart. Plaster the cracks in myself and sand them smooth.

The pain in my veins ain't the same as the rain on the train while I sing this refrain.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I'm going to make it worth the effort of coming back from the dead.

I am the porcelain glaze you espy through a generation of dust. I am the golden alchemical wedding ring lost in the city dump.

I am at a loss for linguistic expression. I am a perceptual apparatus named I AM.

And you will know me by the trail of light I leave behind and the lantern which guides my way.

Wow. Thank you. I've never heard of Normandi Ellis before, but this is absolutely lovely. This sounds like a converstion I had with "God" during an ego-shattering, self-transcending psychedelic adventure.
