An Ode to the Apple
It’s the shiny orb of Taoist monks,
And Newton’s gravitational epiphany-
Kallisti was carved for the most beautiful one,
By Eris to sow chaos and discord.
Said Eve to the Serpent, what’s behind your back?
And Adam to Eve, please won’t you share?
That delicious apple, your forbidden fruit-
The loins of fructose, the meat of the tree-
Replenishes seed for when it must fall,
And bring to fruition the Divinity split,
That thou may know evil and good,
And create the life which we are to be-
To be as the Gods, once and for all.
