Wednesday Morning Orpheum
Jun. 28th, 2005 09:24 amNo, that's not a mistake, I know what day it is. I was perusing some archives and I found this poem that I wrote back in December, but never posted here. The Scott mentioned is a fellow poet whose style I imitated for this piece.
wednesday morning orpheum
i blame scott for this:
dismiss the imitation flattery-
(there is a mirror across the hall on the wall)
timing belts slip on chain length fence
pour me two beers, the rest I digress-
slipping tiddlywinks in my back pocket for fun.
I roll in the sun and melt myself in the sand,
prepare for eight tulips drunken perhaps?
get lost in the rain unbidden, my friend-
(and posting the time on the clock that was bought,
with money I earned from my jackpot birth.)
catastrophe has stapled us all to the wall-
mother can’t wait till the love boat comes on
and superciliousness is replaced by super silliness.
however, a simple hello would suffice
said this man to his god,
And god replied with a violent dawn.
