jackshoegazer: (Funny Face For a Moment)

The internet at Jacquelyn's is still down, so I am at the downtown library. She was right, the computers are all taken by the city's homeless, except for the one to my left, a seat taken by a professional-looking man with a salt-and-peppered goatee who is writing an LJ post.

I called in sick to work last night.

I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon for stomach pain that developed as my head cold sank into my lungs. They felt something odd in my abdomen and did an x-ray. I have a mass in my stomach the size of a cantelope.

Actually, it is a cantelope.

Or maybe it's an April Fool's joke. Either way...

As I mentioned I've been sick for about a week, with just the remnants of a head cold lingering in my lungs and sinuses. Last night around 7, I tried to read an email and couldn't focus on the words. My light sensitivity began to increase, to the point that everything at the video store looked as if I was in heaven, surrounded by fuzzy white clouds. As I drove into Madison, the pain in my head reached a deafening crescendo, wherein I felt physically ill. Coupled with my head cold, this headache-from-Texas, the thought of trying to do my job was unbearable, so I drank some strange hot-lemonade-cayenne-pepper drink of Jacquelyn's, took a decent amount of painkillers, drank several liters of water and went to sleep.

Now I feel fine. And that's true.

I took a momentary break from my ban on soda to try Dr.Pepper's new Berries and Creme flavor. It's good. I swear!

Now I will go back to Jacqui's and try to get some more sleep before work. Since I slept most of the night this seems like it may be difficult. Chamomile may be my champion, who will fight the mighty Consciousness and hopefully win the day.

Until next time I remain,
Xantham P. Shibblebits VII

P.S. I finished the last George R.R. Martin book. No more until the summer release of the new one. Must finish last read-through of Complex Psyche and start prepping sample chapters. Then will read Piers Anthony's long-out-of-print Tarot.

P.P.S. I really want some juice.

P.P.P.S. Your divine spark is like an obedient child. It won't speak unless spoken to.

P.P.P.P.S. Kriskabibble mook lom nooblie frood.
